hallo everyone.
the earlier thread about the min school reminded me of the number of times that i researched and at least partly put together items and pub talks for 'he must be obeyed'.. this was necessary because he worked full time in a demanding job which left very little leeway for cobbling the many assignments together.
at first being a good dub wife i felt guilty at doing this but in talking to others whose husbands also worked full time and were not part time cleaners or window cleaners i found that several other elders wives had always done this.. not only the talks but also sorting out the school assigments, the schedules, field service arrangements, sorting the auditing, coach and accomodation for the dc and ca, checking the accounts etc.. lots of these sisters also helped their children put together their items.. rather makes a mockery of the male privilege of "taking the lead".. most elders and ms are unable to cope with all the pressures and work if their wives dont do most for them.
I knew one sister that consistently prepared her husbands parts, but that's the only case I know anything about. In general, the brothers I've known wouldn't even consider doing something like that.
As far as the perennial denigration of elders and their jobs goes, five of the elders in my congregation make six figure salaries. I guess they're not that stupid.
howcome the wts does not include personal testimonies in their meetings (i mean, ones that have not been edited by the writing department)?
oftentimes when i am preparing for an instructional course, i go looking for a sample completed form.
in order that my students are not led astray, i try and find the perfect sample.
I really don't know where this is coming from. I've heard "personal testimonials" in the congregation until I'm sick of hearing them.

From what I've seen here I'd say the ligh bulb will never be changed by the anti-cult activists but they will have a wonderful time talking about it and will doubtless find that it is the root of all the world's ills.

I know a couple of congregations where hugging is almost a requirement. If you don't want people hanging all over you they look at you funny.
I've seen a little black on white racism as well. In some congregations and areas black brothers and sisters really don't invite others into their circle.

I've been around the Public Relations people at conventions for years and I've never seen this kind of set up. Then there are completely erroneous comments on two different issues. Yet, you say this guy did a good job? What a double standard we have here, if the Wt had done exactly what this guys has done everyone would be screaming liars liars liars yada yada yada.
